Business coaching for mixing engineers and mastering engineers

Build a mixing business that needs fewer, better conversations.

Most advice teaches you to do more outreach. I help you improve the rates, positioning, offers, follow-up, and client experience behind every conversation — so more of the right relationships become booked work, repeat work, and referrals.

Outreach should create relationships, not resemble spam

Most outreach advice teaches you how to contact more people. But if your business requires hundreds of new conversations to stay viable, the problem isn’t just your outreach.

The volume is usually compensating for something underneath it.

Most outreach coaching optimizes how much outreach you do. The Business of Mixing optimizes how much outreach your business needs.

Three problems. Nine parts. One business.

Every freelance mixing business has to solve the same three problems, in order. The Business of Mixing walks them in nine connected parts.

  1. Clarity What am I building, for whom, and why would they choose me? See · Shape · Position
  2. Growth How do the right people discover, trust, talk to, and hire me? Connect · Communicate · Sell
  3. Delivery How do projects become repeat work, reputation, and momentum? Deliver · Retain · Compound
Most slow months trace back to one part of the business. The first job is identifying which one.

A stronger business changes the numbers.

Clients improve their rates, positioning, follow-up, client systems, and the amount of work each booking can create.

More value from each booking

€670 → €860 indie rate

My indie mix rate went from €670 to €860, and my established-act rate from €875 to €1.000. My team can now fully handle project management and client communication without me.

Better movement from relationships to work

2 album deals in 2 days

I have seen success in connecting with new clients, as well as greater confidence in closing deals and selling my value as a mixer. Closed 2 album deals in 2 days since starting the coaching program.

More natural outreach

Networking as relationships

The biggest shifts for me were in mindset and confidence. I've gotten better at separating my self-worth from my rates. Networking isn't just about pitching myself but about building real relationships — that shift made reaching out to A&Rs and labels feel much more natural.

The business is the part nobody built for us.

I spent years as a creative freelancer. I understood the work. The business around it felt different.

Sales felt fake. Pricing felt confusing. Self-promotion felt uncomfortable. Structure felt like something that might take away from the creative work.

Learning the business changed everything. Not by making me less creative, but by making the work more repeatable: better clients, clearer positioning, real follow-up, stronger systems, and more control over what happened next.

After more than 3,000 one-on-one conversations with audio professionals, I keep seeing the same pattern.

Real skill. Real credits. Real potential. No deliberate business structure underneath it.

Mix engineers do not need another person shouting at them to work harder. They need someone who understands the strange, relationship-driven, taste-dependent reality of audio and can help them build the owner function inside it.

That is what I do.

Frequently asked questions.

No. Outreach is one part of the system, not the system itself. We first determine how much work the business actually needs, who is most likely to value it, what helps those people understand and trust you, what they can buy, and what happens after they respond. Then outreach becomes a manageable relationship practice instead of a daily volume contest.

No. Fewer does not mean none. A business still needs a deliberate way to create opportunities. The goal is to do enough thoughtful outreach to build and maintain the right relationships without making constant prospecting the price of survival.

That is common. Do not invent them. Start tracking the source of each inquiry, each new person contacted, each meaningful conversation, each quote, and each first-time booking. The Business Reality Check can still show which parts of the system deserve attention while you build a reliable baseline.

Start with the Business Reality Check if you know the business feels harder than it should, but you are not sure what is creating the drag. Book the Mentorship Intensive if you want me in the room interpreting your situation and building the first plan with you.

Find what is making your next booking harder than it needs to be.
